Riviera Maya is 66 kilometers from Cancun International Airport. It is the second busiest airport in Mexico, only after Mexico City International Airport.
From the airport, Riviera Maya is only 45 minutes away. Resort-type hotels are between 15 and 50 minutes by car.

VISA REQUIREMENTS

All foreigners require a valid passport to enter Mexico.

People nationalized from the following countries or regions do not require a visa to travel to Mexico, as long as their stay does not exceed 180 days. They present the Multiple Migratory Form (FMM): 

Canada, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain, Northern Ireland, or any countries that make up the Schengen Area.

Citizens of other countries require a visa, which they can process through the Mexican embassy in your country of origin.

CURRENCY

The official currency is the Mexican Peso; however, the US Dollar is accepted nationwide in almost all establishments. You can change to national currency at airports, exchange houses, banks, and most hotels. Banks in Riviera Maya are generally open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. It is possible to withdraw money from ATMs 24 hours a day. You can find these in shopping centers and banks. Exchange houses have bilingual staff, and the exchange rate is displayed for customers to see before entering.

TAXES

Mexico offers the possibility of calculating VAT with a rate of 0% for congresses, exhibitions, and fairs carried by events to organizers who live abroad. In other words, in events organized by foreign companies, VAT is not charged for the services specified in the tax regulations.
